I liked your technique but I wish you had the microphone a little closer and maybe a bit more explanatory dialogue. Close-ups when doing the corners would also help this rookie. Thank you for posting; this was very helpful.
Ok i got the seat done before i found this video.. i dont think i did too bad, my concern is the back with no sewing machine, is it possible its curvy im going to try and send you pics on fb to see if you have a video on that. Great video btwppa1
Not the way I teach my upholsterers to do it but this method does get the job done. This tutorial is just OK for teaching the DIY'er a simple way to recover a dining room seat..
That guy is great! But, the camera guy saying "less talking" is really condescending! The man just did a great job for YOU camera guy! Give him a little respect, thank you!
"Less talking"??? I saw "MORE TALKING" I could listen to that guy the whole video. Not only that, what's his name? It would be nice to have a name to go with the craftsmanship.

I noticed you don't have / add any poly batting between the foam and the fabric. Many videos do. I'm almost done with my 4 chairs and was looking up corner tips. I did not put any batting. What are your thoughts on batting vs no batting ? When to use and when not to?

Thanks for taking the time and effort to share this video. Thanks most of all to the man that did the demo. You should have had a mic on you instead of the "announcer". Hats off to you, sir! Thanks so much! :)

ReplyDeleteWhat kind of material is the backing?
ReplyDeleteIf you fixed the spelling of dinging room to dining room you would probably get more views as it would be easier to search for
ReplyDeleteDing-dong, ding-dong, there goes the dinging bell for dinging in my dinging room. I prefer to dine in my dining room, but to each his own....
ReplyDeleteI so wanted to do this project but I'll be damned if I can find a dinging room chair in my whole house!

ReplyDeleteSorry was this how NOT to re-upholster a chair. The corners should ALWAYS be left until last- read any book on the subject.
